Dawes Fox: Restoration

Hello all,

2015-03-24 22.52.42.jpgI recently bought this old Dawes Fox road bike which seems to have been stripped down a bit over the years. I use the bike to commute daily and since buying it have fitted a new brooks seat and handlebar tape. The bike is in ok condition but now that the weather is improving- I am considering a light restoration project. Does anyone have any advise/ can anyone recommend what I should consider replacing/ repairing or doing? I was considering new wheels/ brakes to reduce weightarrow-10x10.png slightly and improve brake efficiency. The secondary brake levers on the handlebar are loose and rattle a bit, and when wet- the brakes are not very responsive.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers, Dan.

Please change your brake set, if you want to lighten your bike, change the wheel set. Most noticeable change. 2cts
