1970 MCB Crescent

She has neither high end components nor a fancy lightweight frame, but she makes up for it with much provenance.

I am caretaker for this original condition, unrestored but much loved family heirloom from Vancouver, B.C., Canada. She belongs to my cousin, who get her in his teens. His dad bought her for him as a present after searching the whole city for this particular bike, having been told it was a very good brand. Registered with the Vancouver city authorities in 1971, she was likely built in 1970 and she is now spending her retirement in Singapore. No longer having the space for her, he gave her to me in 2012.

Well used, she saw her fair share of long hair, bell bottom jeans, parties; mini-skirted babes and perhaps even the Rolling Stones and Deep Purple concerts that played there during that era - and she has the marks to show for it. I spent months cleaning and lightly touching her up, and she's still not pristine. She should never be. She would lose her 'flavour' if she was.
