The seat, handlebars, tyres, brake lines, etc. are all NOS pieces to replace worn or incorrect parts. But the frame, mudguards wheels and gear hub are original to the bike. They have a lovely deep patina that gives her lots of character. I could've had her repainted, but she's lose that special aura of originality. It was fun scrubbing the paint down with Autoglym paint renovator until her rich lilac paint shone through from 1975. Sure, there are lots of light scratches, some chips and one or two little dents. However, each one tells a story of her that we will never know but serves as a clue to her history. Its like excavating an ancient archeological site and finding treasure. That to me is part of the magic of collecting vintage bikes...
R20s are also rare. Uncle Ah Teck of SSC told me that they sold very few R20s compared to Choppers - like one in 10 Raleighs sold in the '70s were R20s, and the rest were Choppers.
