New Collector, Restorer
Permalink Closed

Hello, I am a new antique bicycle collector/restoration enthusiast. I Will most likely be posting questions as to where to find parts and such. I will try and post some of my projects and keep all updated on current projects. I am doing this as a hobby and love to restore old things and make them look brand new. I love old bikes because of the cheap prices to restore and the simplicity.

One of my very first questions is, How much are old bikes worth in its raw state? And how much are they worth after restoration? Is there anywhere that I can use as a guide? Like a Vintage Bicycle Blue Book?

Well, if you're lucky enough to find one, you might able to get one for a couple hundreds. If you find a right buyer, you may sell it for thousands. Not all vintage bicycle sells well. Classic racer manufacturers like Colnago, Masi, De Rosa and Cinelli are hot favorites. English roadsters from Raleigh Industries are popular too! Of course, there's much much more than what I have just mention. Good luck!

I'm doing some collecting/restoring here in Russia. The vintage bikes here are super cheap. In the process of restoring a 1988 Десна. Then I'll move on to others.
