The FORK, Steel vs Carbon
Permalink Closed

Fork is the first thing I see when I look at a bicycle

In my opinion, a beautiful fork has a crown, crownless fork looks plain and boring

The only fork I like are made of steel

The steel fork are the only one that I trust.

Other fork can break at any right circumstances, but a steel fork can last you for many years

Most modern bicycles have carbon forks. They are strong and also lab tested!

Carbon fork is also least defect-tolerant

If the carbon fork is defected, it will can fail so suddenly that it sometimes can be disastrous

On the other hand, steel fork is easiler to inspect for defects and are likely to start from the surface

Steel fork don't just snap when it fails

Usually, it'll be twisted, bend or dented after and incident

If a small crack develops, the noise and flex will call for your attention!

What you you think?
