This was about 2+years ago. From when it first arrived in a box until when it is completed... it was truly a great exprience for me. i've learned a lot from this bike. from the different rear d hangers to the threading... and a couple of amatuer mistakes (breaking a pair of shifters because i screwed it in too hard and the screws end up stuck inside the braze)

All the way from France.

Unboxing.

Samba is not my colour.

But i love the lugs and panto. especially the fork crown and seat stay... Simplex drop outs.

To save money, i decided to strip the paint off myself instead.

after stripping the paint off, i fell in love with the raw steel look and since i have yet to decide on a colour, i decided to leave it as it is. i filled in the lugs with some yellow paint pen and clear coated it myself.

drilled crankset with rat cage pedals

my ability to put together the bike and parts at home is limited... i had to send the rest to my LBS to get it assembled.

You have to spray a good clear coating on the surface to prevent rust. 2cts

yup. at that point everything was DIY to save cost. when the rust gets worse i'll send it for a good clear coat. i also intend to include stickers onto the body = )
