How to date a Raleigh Chopper?

The easiest way is to check the date stamped on the hub, 72 6 means June 1972 and so on. This only works if its the original wheel. Early frame numbers are all over the place but can be worked out roughly to within a few months.


This is the hub date

That's interesting. Most frame will have the date on instead of the hub.

The earlier number frame numbers are harder but if the frame number starts with letters rather than numbers then it's very easy.

I got this hub with 77  - 7 meaning it is 1977.

77- 7 means that the hub was made in July 1977 and is usually a good way to date the bike
