I hope this is acceptable here. I have restored a 1980s Legnano before, and it is a good and fun project. I will post another thread on the Legnano restoration later.
Anyway, other than a "human-powered" two wheeler, I have also restored a engine-powered two wheelers. It is a 1971 Honda CB100 motorcycle. It is rare to have vintage motorcycles in Singapore, so I hope it is ok for me to share my restoration project in this forum.
This is how the bike look like when I got it. Lousy paint job and many rusty parts.
Bike was sent for dismantling. Tanks, side panels, and seat were taken back to restore.
All old paint job of the tanks and other misc parts were removed by myself... sanded everything till it is smooth and sprayed with primer. I also sent quite a number of stuff for chroming, that cost me quite a bit. Other metal parts like the rims of the wheels, drum brakes and engine were hand polished by myself. I also had the wheels re-spoked.
I do not want to restore the bike back to the original look in 1971. so I have chosen to make it a "contemporary yet retro" design... Just wanna make it custom and special. I got the seat rewrapped with diamond shape design too.
Wow... Lambretta is really a nice piece of rare scooter! Looking forward for your restoration project... I can't remember how long I took for my motorcycle restoration, I think it was about 3-4 months. Did it quite slow.... :)
