IMO, there's three, or maybe four categories for racing bicycles
First, we have the Post Vintage bicycles That's where all early bicycle started
Then, there's Vintage bicycles, where bicycles were made to race That's when the early stick shifters were invented
Follow by the Classic bicycles, The derailleur were used with shifters located on the down tube These bicycles are reliable and are fit for everyday rides and even competitive racing
Lastly, Modern Classic bicycles are able to fit or fitted with modern components that integrates materials such as carbon fiber and titanium etc.
Blunt, and to the point. Vintage is anything older than mid 80's. Classic on the other hand is a Beautiful design no matter if it is 100 hundred years old or 1 day old. That is my opinion. I am looking forward to replies.
